Children read in school every day and will have the opportunity to change their school reading books on a weekly basis. Children are encouraged to read at home daily as part of their homework.
Children should read a wide variety of materials, which can be fiction or non-fiction books, magazines, newspapers, instructions, and anything that sparks their interest.
Weekly reading challenges will be set on DB Primary.
Our goal is a love of reading!
Every Friday children will be given weekly spellings to learn. The children will practice during the week and on the following Friday, they will sit a test to ascertain their learning and what further support they need. Please practice spellings at home.
Spellings games will be available on DB Primary - Oak.
In Year 5, children should be aiming to become fluent in their Times Tables knowledge for all tables. Every Friday, children will practice their Times Tables in mental maths challenges.
Children can find Times Tables games on DB Primary - Oak.
