Welcome to Woodpecker Class

Woodpecker Class is split into two groups, EYFS and Year 1.

Mrs Benstead works across both year groups with support from Mrs Kaye, Mrs Owen and Mrs Stedman.

In EYFS a large focus for us is learning through play.  Outside we might ride bikes, hunt for bugs, play in the kitchen or look for letters and numbers hiding in the water.  Inside we could choose to play with the play dough, paint, draw, count, construct or practice writing. There are lots of opportunities for hands-on fun and interaction with a wide range of resources and activities. A big emphasis is put on developing the children’s confidence and independence in learning, as well as building early skills in literacy and numeracy.
