Ofsted Report - March 2026
Dear parents and carers,
I am very pleased to share with you our most recent Ofsted report following our inspection on 10th and 11th February.
The school team has worked extremely hard over the past few years (and I know will continue to!) to ensure the very best education and experience for every child at St Mary’s. We are thrilled that the report reflects our hard work, we have achieved “expected standard” in every area.
Ofsted says “The ‘expected standard’ means the school is doing everything that it should be doing, so you’ll see the green colour coding on the report card. It’s a high standard, to make sure your children are receiving everything they need and deserve.”
The report has many wonderful things to say about our school and pupils, and the areas for next steps are areas we have already highlighted and are working on. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I have!
Many thanks for your continued support of the school, St Mary’s community is truly very special.
Kind regards,
Ruth Baugh

The report highlights a lot of strengths in the school, particularly noting
- A vision and values that really make a difference to daily life in school.
- Warm, trusting relationships that create a caring and supportive culture.
- A creative, inclusive curriculum with great enrichment opportunities.
- Excellent support for pupils with SEND so that every child can thrive.
- Pupils taking on meaningful responsibilities and living out the vision in practical ways.
We are very pleased with the report and the journey our school is on. It is always wonderful to hear others see how special our school is.
