School Lunches at Little Hallingbury

Our school lunches are made on site each day by our chef, Michelle. To support healthy eating, we make our own sauces, curries, pizzas, cakes and biscuits and buy very little ready made food. Following The Eatwell Guide, we aim to offer all food groups over the week. 

Our menu is devised with input from Essex County Council and is designed to be healthy and balanced with some firm favourites for the children to enjoy. Vegetarian options are available daily. We aim to try new options regularly whilst also looking at any food waste to ensure that we are not serving options that the vast majority do not enjoy. We are pleased to see that the numbers of children enjoying our school lunches continues to increase.

School dinners cost £2.50 per day for children in Years 3-6, for children in Reception to Year 2 the Government provide a free school meal. Please pre-order your child's lunches in advance via School Money. If you do not pre-order, please send a packed lunch with your child in the morning.
