Woodpeckers - Reception, Year 1 & Year 2

New update

Dear All,

You will find all children’s work on the school website with resources and videos to help your child’s learning.

Every day the children will be set a piece of English, Maths, Reading or Phonics work and an extra subject lesson, years 1 and 2 will also have their weekly spellings. The English, Maths and Phonics will follow a sequence of lessons.

Please upload your children’s work to the ‘My work’ section of d. B Primary, I will check this regularly.

I will be pre-recording daily phonic sessions for EYFS and Year 1, and reading a text for Year 2 to complete a reading comprehension. I plan in the coming weeks to also incorporate zoom sessions.

To ensure all children are accessing home learning I will be asking for year 1 and 2 to register on their d.B Primary page every morning at 9am. I will be online on d.B Primary from 9-9.30am every day to answer any questions and give feed back to work.

Children can email me via their page, however following our online safety procedures parents and careers need to email me using my work email address eleni.chrysostomou@stmaryshbo.essex.sch.uk, please understand that I will only check this during work hours and may take time to respond as I will be preparing lessons and may have meetings.

I have emailed EYFS parents with their child’s login details for d. B Primary. All Year 1 and 2 pupils should already have their d. B Primary logins, however if you are unsure please email me. Remember to search for d. B Primary Little Hallingbury when logging in, or follow the link below.

Miss Chrysostomou

Welcome to Woodpecker Class

Woodpecker Class is split into two groups, EYFS and Years 1 and 2.

Miss Chrysostomou works across all year groups with support from Mrs Kaye, Mrs Gleeson and Mrs Owen.

In EYFS a large focus for us is learning through play.  Outside we might ride bikes, hunt for bugs, play in the kitchen or look for letters and numbers hiding in the water.  Inside we could choose to play with the play dough, paint, draw, count, construct or practice writing. There are lots of opportunities for hands-on fun and interaction with a wide range of resources and activities. A big emphasis is put on developing the children’s confidence and independence in learning, as well as building early skills in literacy and numeracy.

Happy New Year, I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas.

All work for Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th of January is available by clicking on the ‘Home Learning’ icons.
