L.O. to locate places on maps of different scales

 

SC1) I recognise outline maps of different scales.
SC2) I access atlases and/or online maps for reference.
SC3) I collect information from other subjects (History).
SC4) I choose a method of recording that makes my work clear.

 

Task 3

 

1) You will need to access the map templates located lower down on this page. Ideally, load these pictures into a drawing or word-processing programme (Word or PowerPoint would work). Alternatively, print the maps off in order to fill them in.

2) Research countries involved in World War II. You will need to find out what countries were invaded by Germany and which countries were part of the Allies or part of the Axis Powers. This will take up a substantial part of your time.

 

3) Choose a way to record which countries were invaded by Germany. You will need a key of some sort. Which scale map or maps will you use? How will you show your key?

 

4) Choose a way to record which countries were part of the Axis Powers (on Germany's side) and which countries were part of the Allies (on Britain's side). Which scale map or maps will you use? How will you show your key?
